With the Bears, he became the youngest player in NFL history to rush for 1000 yards. 1994 Heisman Trophy Winner as a running back for the Colorado Buffalos from 1992-94. As a junior, he had one of the most spectacular collegiate seasons ever, rushing for a school record 2,055 yards and capturing the 60th annual Heisman Trophy.

Salaam died December 5, 2016 at the age of 42.
