Willie Mays Plaque

This Giants Willie Mays Plaque is 15" x 12" made with a classic 8x10 photo of Willie making "The Catch", a deluxe engraved plate and a Mays baseball card. "The Say Hey Kid" is one of the greats to touch the baseball field, as he spent 22 seasons in the MLB and played 21 with the New York/San Fransisco Giants. Willie would make his first appearance in the MLB after the Giants signed him out of high school in 1950. He would win the Rookie of the Year before serving in the Army for 2 seasons. When Willie came back, he took the league by storm when he hit 41 home runs along with a .345 batting average, enough for Willie to win his first of two MVP trophies. As the playoffs came around, Willie led the Giants through the postseason to the World Series. Mays would make his famous over-the-shoulder catch in Game 1, helping the Giants take Game 1 and the series for New York to win the World Series, the only World Series win of Willie's career. Mays's career saw him make 24 All-Star game appearnaces, win 12 Gold Glove Awards and hit 660 home runs. "The Say Hey Kid" truly had a storytale career that would end with him being enshrined in the Pro Baseball Hall Of Fame as a first-ballot inductee.
